Central Bank thieves free while innocent employees are imprisoned

Months after a robbery at the Central Bank of Barbados employees are up in arms at the stringent measures put in place. Although there is no official petition against the new measures many are saying that they have been put in prison, while the actual thieves are content with their freedom ( having been released on bail)

One person took the full fall for the robbery presumably because he knew he would never see a day in prison. T...

Posted by Barbados on Sunday, January 10, 2010 , In : Barbados
Joe Jackson is in Barbados for the Barbados Music Awards (BMA). The father arrived a day early Saturday 9th for the event at the Grantley Adams International Airport.  Early reports suggested that other members of the Jackson family would also be attending the event but now that looks doubtful.

Fantasia also arrived today making an appearance at the Hilton Hotel to mainly listen to upcoming singers and offer a few words of advice.  Her most memorable piece of advice was to just let go when you...

Rihanna and Matt Kemp

When stories surfaced of Rihanna and Matt Kemp dating surfaced, we initially dismissed them as mere rumours especially since Matt did not accompany her to Barbados. However, since Rihanna’s Dubai concert, which Matt attended, the facts have become harder to ignore and the multiple pictures of Matt’s hands on Rihanna’s bum.
The Daily Mail reported in recent interview’s that Rihanna likes him because “he is a gentleman and super sexy!”

Barbados economic worries

Barbados government is struggling to pay its workers; IMF or no IMF in 2010

In very secretive rooms economists in Barbados are discussing the possibility of going to the International Monetary Fund in 2010. The most public comments being those of Avinash Persaud in which he urged Barbados to go to the IMF this year (2009 at the writing of this article). Mr.  Persaud believed that going sooner rather than later would result in more favourable terms and conditions being imposed on the country in...

Barbados Entrepreneurs

Posted by agitated entrepreneur on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 , In : Barbados

The Barbados government is promoting entrepreneurship as the way forward, but they offer no meaningful support network.  In terms of funding and marketing the support systems are at best poor for the new business. The Barbados government sponsored programs are either under funded or just too bureaucratic to assist in a timely manner. Yet there are never ending calls (from government employed persons) to take up entrepreneurship. Most Barbadians would see the fact these persons Irene Sandiford...

rihanna 20 20 interview

Posted by on Sunday, November 8, 2009 , In : Barbados

Importantly, we don’t endorse gossip (celebrity news etc), but the Rihanna 20 20 interview and the potential impact it might have prompted kissbarbados to allow the publication of the following blog.

Initially I thought that the rihanna 20 20 interview would be solely an attempt at self promotion with a well scripted teleprompter and a victim with a few crocodile tears, here and there. I am generally skeptical about “celebrities” and various public figures and there need to stay in t...
